Date & Orange Scones

Ingredients
4 ½ cups self raising flour
2 Tbsp sugar
Zest from ½ orange
300g Cinderella Diced Dates
300ml cream
300ml lemonade
Milk for glazing
1 Tbsp raw sugar
Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C (fan bake). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Sift flour into a mixing bowl. Stir in sugar, orange zest and Cinderella Diced Dates. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients. Pour in cream and lemonade and mix together to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat dough out to approx. 5cm thickness. Using a cookie cutter, cut into scones and place on the baking tray. Brush scones with a little milk and sprinkle over a little raw sugar.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until scones are golden and cooked. Remove and cool wrapped in a clean tea towel sat on a cooling rack.
